New Live Album w/ The High 48s!

I’m very happy to announce that the bluegrass band I play banjo in, The High 48s, have just put the finishing touches on our new live album Wham! Bam! Thank You Braham! — which we recorded last November at the Wiese Auditorium in Braham, MN.

I’m particularly excited about this album because it features new versions of some of my original songs like “Great Northern Railroad” and “Rewriting My Memories” which I actually sing this time (I had our previous lead singer record them on other albums). There is also a new version of my banjo instrumental “Over the Clover” which now features a killer guitar solo (I just played rhythm guitar on the original recording).

Overall, I’m really proud of how this album turned out, I think it represents our current sound and captures the energy of our live shows. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Live at the Bluegrass & BBQ Fest!

The High 48s traveled to Branson, MO last month to play the annual Bluegrass & BBQ Festival held at Silver Dollar City. We had an awesome time and met some nice folks, including a gentleman who captured a few of our tunes on video. Below are a couple covers I love playing with band: the old blues classic, House of the Rising Sun and a pedal steel guitar instrumental turned banjo tune, Remington Ride, hope you enjoy!
