I’m excited to announce that I will be teaching a bluegrass band workshop with the The High 48s from 1-5pm on Oct. 17th!
While I will be doing some breakout sessions teaching the banjo students in the group, the workshop is really a crash course in playing and performing with others- super useful stuff that you won’t find in any books/DVDs.
Topics will include arranging songs and vocal harmonies, playing backup, playing solos, building repertoire and writing set lists. We’ll also talk a little about jam etiquette and how to jam at a bluegrass festival or pickin’ party.
When: October 17, 2015. The workshop runs from 1pm to 5pm. Concert from 5-5:30pm.
Where: Crossings at Brookwood, 6201 Lilac Drive, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota
From 57th Ave N and Hwy 100—take 57th Ave N east to Fremonth, north to Lilac Drive. Street parking available. Closest bus stop is Lilac and Dupont (#22 bus).
How to register: Registration for Minnesota State Fiddlers Association (MSFA) members is $35 and for non-members $45. If you’re a fiddle player and not currently a member, membership is only $10. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
